Shopping at Sheeplands will be a piece of cake on Friday, September 29.
That’s when Sheeplands Cafe puts into action its plan to raise money for the Macmillan charity organisation by taking part in its “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” campaign
Before then customers are invited to bake a cake as a donation to Macmillan and take it to Sheeplands.
The donated cakes will then be sold in the coffee shop on the 29th with all the money raised going to Macmillan. For every cake sold Sheeplands will donate an extra £1 to the charity.
In addition, customers will be able to enter a raffle to win a very special “showcase” cake as well as other cakes donated by suppliers.
The showcase cake is being baked by coffee shop employee Linda Brearley, who has worked for Sheeplands for 14 years. “My husband died of pancreatic cancer,” she explained “so I am always very keen to support cancer-related charities.”
“Everyone is aware of the excellent work carried out by Macmillan and I am sure our customers will want to support such a worthwhile charity. So get baking and make sure you come along to Sheeplands on the 29th to get a slice of the action” urged General Manager Andy Sherwood.
